There are so many benefits of using PTFE coated lead screws and acme screws to improve and enhance your products and applications. Before we get into some benefits of choosing PTFE coated screws, here's some more information on the product itself:
PTFE is a durable fluoropolymer based coating and is combined with appropriate resins specially formulated to provide a tough, durable film for dry lubrication. PTFE offers excellent abrasion and salt spray resistance. The film components stratify during the curing process and most of the fluoropolymer properties (such as low-coefficient of friction and non stick character) are retained. This coating also increases the efficiency of lead screw assemblies. PTFE coating can be applied to all HELIX lead screws.

PTFE coating is an excellent lubricant for:
- Medical
- Semiconductor
- Electronic
- High precision and clean applications
3 Benefits of PTFE Coating:
Tip 1: Chemical Resistant
PTFE coatings have been proven to be the best when used in applications where chemical reactions are a concern. All things considered, PTFE coating is usually not affected by chemicals found in its environment.
Tip 2: Water and Heat Resistant
Another main benefit of PTFE coated screws is that they are not only water resistant but heat resistant as well. The surface can be easily wiped clean and the water does not cause the industrial coating to become saturated. The HELIX™ brand coating can also withstand heats up to 500°F (at max) - making our precision screws ideal for heat intensive applications.
Tip 3: Non-Stick Surface
Consumers choose PTFE coated screws because nearly NO substances will permanently adhere to it. Applying the coating to a component will make it very easy to clean and give it excellent non-stick/release properties. This option appeals to many industrial applications because it is excellent at preventing product (hot and cold) from permanently sticking to the substrate.
HELIX and PTFE
Industrial PTFE coating can be applied to all of HELIX's lead screws to ensure optimum chemical resistance, water and heat resistance and non-stick qualities.
