Swiss Set-Up Machinist

The Swiss Set-Up Machinist position is responsible for the setup and operation of the Swiss type and/or Multi-Axis machines.

The Swiss Set-Up Machinist is responsible for the set-up and operation of Swiss and/or multi-axis machines.

Essential Functions:

  • Set-up of Swiss/Multi-Axis Equipment.
  • Operate Swiss/Multi-Axis machinery upholding and adhering to production standards and ISO 9001 regulations and guidelines.
  • Inspect product to print, looking for any flaws or defects of material, including deburring if necessary. 
  • Using in-process inspection documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Performing general maintenance on machinery.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.

Experience: Three to five years job experience setting up Swiss/Multi-Axis machinery.

Specific Skills

  • The ability to calculate feeds, speeds, and proper cutting conditions. 
  • Strong background in mathematics and blueprint reading. 
  • Machining knowledge of milling and turning operations. 
  • Intermediate measurement skills with surface plate inspection techniques.

Working Conditions/ Physical Demands

There will be limited physical activity, consisting of lifting materials of no more than 50 lbs.

Interfaces

Internal: Operators will interact with management and other co-workers on a daily basis to successfully perform all their responsibilities.

External: No external communication
