Recirculating Roller Screw (RRS)

High Load Capacity. Long Service Life. Precision Motion.
A step up from ball screws, the Recirculating Roller Screw (RRS) is designed as an alternative to standard roller screws for applications where space constraints and fine leads are the limiting factor. Unlike planetary roller screws, the RRS uses cage-guided rollers that recirculate inside the nut assembly via cams. This design is well suited to long-stroke applications that require smaller leads combined with high load capacity in a reduced envelope. The RRS is available with a cylindrical or flanged nut, with screw leads typically in the 1 to 2 mm range.
This design offers a strong compromise when capacity, resolution, accuracy, and very low driving torque on a long stroke all matter at the same time.
Description of the RRS, Recirculating Roller Screw
- RRS-C ~ Cylindrical Nut
- RRS-F ~ Flanged Nut
RRS-C The cylindrical nut configuration offers a compact mounting profile suited to applications with limited radial clearance.
RRS-F The flanged nut configuration provides a mounting flange for straightforward alignment and installation into housings or end-use assemblies.

Performance
The RRS combines the fine-lead resolution and long-stroke capability of a recirculating design with load capacity closer to that of a planetary roller screw than a standard ball screw. Cage-guided recirculation keeps driving torque low even over long travel lengths, making the RRS a practical choice when both precision and stroke length are priorities.
Applications
The RRS Recirculating Roller Screw is specified for long-stroke applications requiring fine lead resolution and high load capacity in a compact envelope, including:
✦ Precision automation and robotics
✦ Long-stroke positioning systems
✦ Semiconductor and electronics manufacturing equipment
✦ Medical and laboratory equipment
✦ Test and measurement systems
✦ Machine tools requiring fine feed control
